Motto happily provides free online returns for all full-priced items within Australia because we want to make your life easy!

For returns from New Zealand and other international locations, please check the information below for more details.

We offer a 30-day return policy for both domestic and international returns. Please note that sale items are not eligible for free or flat-rate returns, and the shipping cost will need to be covered by you.

Black Friday Sale Return Policy

Spend & Save  

All orders place during our Spend & Save promotion are eligible for free returns using our reply paid returns method. We will happily accept returns for refunds, store credit, or size exchanges. Please make sure your item is unworn, in its original condition, and has all tags attached.

50% Off Promotion  

All items will be clearly labelled as "Final Sale" or "Exchange Only". Please note that Final Sale items are ineligible for returns or exchanges due to the significant discount offered, unless the item is found to be faulty or defective. Percentage Off Discounts                                

Items with a discount greater than 15% off are considered sale items and are not eligible for free returns. Customers are responsible for the return shipping costs. For more information on how to make a return please click the dropdown "How do I make a return" below.

Final Sale

Final Sale items are ineligible for returns or exchanges due to the significant discount offered, unless the item is found to be faulty or defective. This includes final sale items that are included in any of the above promotions.

Exchange Only

Items marked as "exchange only" are not eligible for a refund. You may return your item for an exchange in a different size. However, we cannot exchange an item for a different style. If you wish to exchange your item for a different style, we will issue a refund in the form of online credit, which can be used to purchase the new style.

All items included in the promotion are considered sale items. If eligible for return, the customer will be responsible for the return shipping cost to the below address.

What is your return policy?

We happily accept returns for refunds, store credit, or size exchanges. Please make sure your item is unworn, in its original condition, and has all tags attached.

Please keep in mind that "Final Sale" items cannot be returned due to their heavily discounted nature, unless they are deemed faulty.

How to return or exchange an item by post

Free Australian Online Returns

All Australian online returns are free (excluding sale items). Simply follow the below steps to arrange your free return:

  1. Simply use the reply paid returns address which can be found on your provided pink returns form.
  2. Post your parcel at any Post Office. Alternatively, post your parcel in a Red Street posting box.
  3. Returns must also include the pink returns form.

Returning Sale Items

Sale items are not eligible for free returns and customers are responsible for covering the cost of the return. Simply return your items back to us by taking them into your local post office and sending them to the below address:

How to return or exchange an item by post

Flat Rate New Zealand Returns

We offer flat rate $10.00 AUD returns from New Zealand. Simply follow the New Zealand Return Portal to lodge your return.

  1. Enter your return details as found on your provided order invoice.
  2. Review and confirm your return.
  3. We will send over your Australia Post Returns label within one business day (Monday-Friday).
  4. Print your return label and securely attach the label to the top face of the parcel, ensuring the tape does not cover any part of the barcode. You may print your label at most Post Offices.
  5. Post your parcel at your local Post Office.
  6. Remember to include your pink returns form in your parcel.

The $10.00 AUD flat rate fee will be charged to the original payment method used for your order.

Returning Sale Items

Sale items are not eligible for flat rate returns and customers are responsible for covering the cost of the return. Simply return your items back to us by taking them into your local post office and sending them to the below address:

What are my return options?

  1. Refund to your original method of payment
  2. Exchange for another size (let us know your exchange ASAP so we can check on stock availability).
  3. Store Credit to your Motto online account (this never expires)

Can I return an item to a Motto retail store?

Absolutely! We want to make your life as easy as possible. Our store will lodge your return acceptance and our online team will process your refund within 1 business day to your original payment method.

How long will it take for my refund to arrive?

We will processed your refund within 1-2 business days of your return being deliverd. Please allow adequate transit time for your return to arrive. You will be notified via email once your return has been received and processed.

Australia: Please allow up to 5-7 business days for your parcel to arrive back to us.

New Zealand: Please allow up to 10 days for your parcel to arrive back to us.

Rest of World: Your parcel has a long journey ahead - please allow up to 15 business days for your parcel to arrive back to us.

Oh no! My item is faulty - What can I do

Motto takes extreme care in ensuring our goods are of the highest quality. However, if for any reason you find a fault with one of our products, we will help you!

Just contact us so we can arrange a replacement item for you immediately, offer a repair if possible, or we can give you a full refund.
